By 1985, the building was functioning as a museum, and the acquisition of a significant collection of indigenous ceramics lead to its establishment at a national museum level.”This is a 1960s glazed ceramic vase created at the “El Palomar” studio and workshop of Ken Edwards and Jorge Wilmot, signed on the bottom by the artisan with a distinct mark. It appears to be an homage to oriental porcelain ceramics with a peacock across the front of the vase, a bonsai tree and butterflies.
